Then there are lots of grappling scenes, a scene of the young bullfighter in his beautiful costume readying himself for the fight, then a scene of the teacher carrying unconscious Winnie – scene turns red and the word CARNAGE appears as the title.
En Espagne, un taureau est tué lors d'une corrida, après avoir blessé le toreador. Les différents morceaux de l'animal équarri seront distribués à quelques personnages cherchant tous leur place dans la société : Winnie, 5 ans, est épileptique, et vit avec un énorme chien. Elle fait des crises aussi à l'école, devant sa maitresse Jeanne. Alors qu'ils viennent d'acheter un os (un du taureau) pour l'animal, le chariot des parents de Winnie heurte le véhicule parqué de Carlotta, jeune comédienne au chômage, qui fait de l'animation au supermarché. Alexis, candidat au suicide et témoin de l'accrochage, se présente chez les parents de la fillette, accompagné de Carlotta. Ce soir-là meurt le dogue de Winnie. La jeune fille emmène Alexis à la piscine, pour des séances de thérapie destinées à l'aider à se reconcilier avec son corps. Luc, taxidermiste, vit dans une caravane avec sa mère Rosie, une cleptomane. Lorsque Luc retrouve son père qui l'a délaissé depuis longtemps, il lui offre des cornes (celles du taureau). Betty, enceinte de Jacques, (qui travaille sur des yeux de bovin, ceux du taureau ), son mari infidèle et fuyant, finit par donner naissance à des quintuplés...
