Later has another seizure when he tries to bring some red wine to David, also unclear, Jewish, devastated, living in room of old prostitute who has died or left. Neighbor brings him home after finding him on the stairs. Scene in which he has an eeg and doctor says he has epilepsy. End of film – goes out with his dog. Has a seizure where he pees down his leg, clinches his hands and face and loses consciousness. Mother finds dog who brings her to little boy, Giuseppe, who is dead. She carries him home, puts him on the bed, sits on the floor, talks or sings to herself, police shoot their way into the apartment and of course shoot the dog and that is the end.

Rom während und kurz nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg: Die Grundschullehrerin jüdischer Abstimmung Ida Ramundo muß hilflos das tragische Schicksal ihrer beiden Söhne mitansehen. Der epilepsiekranke Useppe stirbt nach kurzem Leben in Isolation an einem Anfall. Sein älterer Bruder wechselt wiederholt die politischen Fronten und kommt bei einem Autounfall zu Tode.
