Handlung

30er Jahre, Wirtschaftskrise in England: Um der Erwachsenenwelt zu entfliehen, geht der 12jährige, epilepsiekranke Tim in der Gegend um Yorkshire auf die Suche nach dem ""Kingfisher"", einem seltenen Vogel. Wegen seiner Anfälle will ihn Dr. Dobson in eine Anstalt einweisen. Tim's Leben wird aufregender, seitdem er sich in Win zu verlieben beginnt.
