""Advertising is based on one thing: Happiness."" (Don Draper) Kein Wunder, dass Danny Farrell zu der Überzeugung kommt, dass mit seinen Anfällen kein Staat zu machen ist.
Don and Suzanne are in bed together when they hear a knock at the door. It's her brother, and she wants Don to meet him. Her brother Danny has a bandage on his forehead. He has ""fits,"" says Suzanne, which is how epilepsy used to be described. And Don leaves. She tells Danny she wanted them to meet, but Danny's not impressed: ""He knows how to leave a room. He's arrogant. His plans were interrupted."" Suzanne leaps to Don's defense. She promises to get her brother another job (he hurt himself on the job at a library).
Don goes to Suzanne's place and finds Danny there. Don offers to drive him to Bedford, Mass. Suzanne gives her brother money and big tearful hug before Don takes him away. In the car Danny confesses he's not going to Bedford because he knows how things will go -- all will be fine till he has a seizure, then he'll have to move on. Don insists he has to take the job, but Danny tells him to just pull over. As he's going to get out of the car, Don tells him ""you can still change things,"" then ""I'm going to try to do this right once."" (What is he referring to? Do what right once?) Don gives Danny his card and tells him to call if he needs anything. ""If anything happens to you, your sister will never forgive herself,"" he says. And off Don goes, leaving Danny to walk off into the darkness.
